What you'll need: 1. Soy wax. I used a 4lb bag of Artminds Soy Wax Flakes which yielded 12 candles, various sizes. 2. Thermometer. 3. Votive or jar
6. Wicks. You can use wood wicks or traditional wicks, I used Artminds wood wicks for the larger jars and regular wicks for the smaller ones, both worked well. Directions: Step 1: Affix the pre-tabbed wicks to the bottom of your container using a hot glue gun or other wick stickum. Secure the wick in place so that it stays centered when you pour your wax in- chopsticks work great! Step 2: Measure the amount of soy chips you'll need by measuring out 2.5 times the capacity of your votive in dry chips. This will melt down enough just to fill your container. Step 3: Once the wax is completely melted, remove from the heat. Add fragrance when the wax is around 185°f and stir thoroughly- it's important not to let the wax continue to heat when adding the fragrance as it will evaporate out of the wax. For the size of votive used below I put in 1 ml of fragrance and the smell was quite subtle. Step 4: Carefully pour the wax into the container and let cool until wax is hard and white (about 30-60 min.)
